Downtown Lexington Corp. on Wednesday announced the 2015 DLC Awards of Excellence, to be given at a luncheon Dec. 7 at the Hilton downtown.
■ The Apiary, honored with the Urban Innovation award for "creating a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination on the recently reinvigorated Jefferson Street Corridor."
■ Keeneland and the Breeders' Cup, honored with the Leadership Achievement Award for "having the vision and determination to bring the pinnacle of horse racing to the Horse Capital of the World."
■ Blue Grass Trust deTours program, honored with the Perfect Partner Award for "exposing thousands of people to dozens of Lexington's historic and unique treasures."
■ Kip Cornett, honored with the Individual Achievement Award for "his dedication to making the Breeders' Cup Festival a reality and for all of his past efforts to support downtown and the entire community."
■ Jon Carloftis, honored with the Landscape and Streetscape Award for "his restoration of Historic Botherum and his contributions to public projects including the 2010 WEG decorations and the recent redesign of Short Street."
■ Danny Raley of Lexington Livery Co., honored with the Smiley Pete Award "for being an ambassador for downtown Lexington for over 30 years."
