Cooper & Kings, a brandy distillery in Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood, opened Monday for tours and distilling. Lesley and Joe Heron began producing modern brandy in a state-of-the-art distillery earlier this year.
Located at 1121 East Washington Street, the brandy-exclusive distillery has custom-made pot stills from nearby Vendome Copper & Brass Works.
Hourly public tours on weekends will begin Nov. 1. The cost for an hourlong distillery tour is $10 a person and includes a brandy-tasting and souvenir glass. For more information and reservations, go to Copperandkings.com.
Copper & Kings, a member of the Kentucky Distillers' Association, currently distributes three distilled craft spirits (Immature Brandy, Craft Distilled Brandy and Absinthe Blanche) in eight states in the South and Midwest.
