Former University of Kentucky basketball star Anthony Davis will grace the cover of NBA2K16, according to art released by 2K Games on Thursday.
Davis is one of three NBA players who will be featured on the cover for the latest installment of what has become the most popular basketball video game series on the market. Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Rockets guard James Harden also were chosen for the cover.
Noted New York Knicks fan and filmmaker Spike Lee will "direct" NBA2K16, which will be released in the fall.
Davis is the first former Wildcat to make an NBA video game cover since Antoine Walker was featured on the front of NBA Live 99. Jeff Sheppard was on the cover of Fox College Hoops '99 the same year, shortly after he helped lead UK to the national championship in 1998.

The 2K series overtook the NBA Live series in popularity several years ago, and the most recent edition was the best-selling game in the United States for October 2014, according to IGN.com.
Allen Iverson was on the cover of the first five games in the NBA2K series, which debuted in 1999. Kevin Durant is on the current cover, and LeBron James was on the front the previous year.
Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird also have made the cover in recent years.
Davis will be the first former UK player to get that honor.
