One man died and another was seriously injured in a head-on crash in Whitley County on Friday.
Jason Wilson, 35, of the Devil's Creek community was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup that collided with a Ford F-350, which was towing a trailer with a tractor, on Ky. 511 about a mile from Cumberland Falls Highway at 7:30 p.m., according to the Whitley County sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department said the crash occurred in a curve, and speed is thought to be a factor. No criminal charges are expected.
Wilson and his passenger, Wesley Bennett, 32, of Ward Cemetery Road, were taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Wilson died several hours later. Bennett was listed in serious condition at noon Saturday, according to the sheriff's department.
The driver of the Ford was not taken to a hospital.
Croley Funeral Home in Williamsburg is in charge of arrangements for Wilson.
