2-year-old boy dies following drowning in Harrodsburg

A 2-year-old Harrodsburg boy died Friday afternoon, a day after he was found in a pool, the Fayette County Coroner's Office said in a news release Tuesday.

Tyler Baker was pronounced dead Friday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, the release said.

The boy was found submerged in a pool Thursday at his home, according to the news release. Harrodsburg police investigated the death as accidental.

Harrodsburg Police Detective Garry Bradshaw said the boy was the son of a caretaker who lives on the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The boy had apparently climbed into an above-ground swimming pool and drowned, Bradshaw said.

Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg is in charge of arrangements.
