Car crash kills Sandy Hook woman

A woman died Tuesday morning after her car struck a utility pole in Rowan County.

Diana Marble, 61, of Sandy Hook, was traveling west on Christy Creek Road when her car left the road and struck a pole before landing on its top at the intersection of Christy Creek and CCC Trail Road, according to a news release from state police.

Marble was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Marble had pre-existing medical issues that could have contributed to the accident, which remains under investigation, the release said.
