Relative of murder suspect held in contempt of court

A relative of a man charged with murder in Rockcastle County got in trouble during a court hearing Monday.

During an arraignment for three men charged in the murder case, Dwayne Singleton allegedly made a gesture, then denied knowing about it when District Judge Jeffrey Scott Lawless questioned him, said Rockcastle County Attorney Billy Reynolds.

Reynolds said he did not see the gesture.

Lawless sentenced Singleton, 45, of Brodhead, to 30 days in jail for contempt of court.

Reynolds said Singleton is related to Joshua Cameron, 23, one of three men charged with killing Jackie Bullock, 34, who was shot to death last week.

Police have said the men wanted to steal Bullock's prescription medication.
