Lexington police are looking for a man who took a bag of money from a Cash Express employee at gunpoint Monday evening.
Lt. Mark Brand said a woman who worked at the payday lending business at 565 East New Circle Road was locking up the store about 5:30 p.m. when a masked man approached her outside.
He displayed a silver handgun and demanded a blue bank deposit bag full of cash she was carrying, Brand said. The woman complied and the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
He ran toward a neighborhood behind the business. Police were searching the area Monday night. Officers were not able to use dogs to track the man's scent because there was too much foot traffic in the area, Brand said.
