Johnson's 2002 four-door Buick was northbound when it collided with the truck in the southbound lane, Hodge said. The crash occurred at 4:40 a.m., about 9 miles north of Lancaster.
Johnson was pronounced dead just after 5 a.m. Friday.
The truck driver was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, but Hodge said he did not know the extent of the driver's injuries.
Kentucky State Police said the road, which had been closed after the crash, was back open by 8 a.m.
