Employees fighting an armed man foiled a robbery attempt at a Lexington fast food restaurant.
Donald Hudson, 23, was charged with first-degree robbery; police said he tried to rob Hardee's on Richmond Road with a knife.
About 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report of a robbery in progress at the restaurant, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. When officers arrived, they found employees holding down Hudson, who apparently had entered the store and demanded money.
Employees apparently rushed Hudson and tackled him. According to a police report, a manager suffered an injury to his eye in the scuffle.
Hudson was taken to the Fayette County jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
