A Whitley County man who had been missing since Monday was found dead Wednesday night less than 30 minutes from his home, said Danny Moses, emergency management director for the southern Kentucky county.
Richard "Dick" Martin, 62, was found shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday in some woods, Moses said. No foul play was suspected, Moses said.
Martin was found away from an all-terrain vehicle that he was reportedly operating when he was last seen, Moses said.
The search for Martin began late Monday night and continued Tuesday and Wednesday. Volunteers from neighboring Knox and McCreary counties combed the woods. Some people searched with dogs, and a Kentucky National Guard helicopter searched from the air.
Moses estimated that 40 to 45 people were involved in the search on Wednesday.
