Workshop to help property managers go green

A Go Green, Save Green workshop for business and apartment complex managers will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 15 at Transylvania University. The $30 session is sponsored by Bluegrass PRIDE and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.

The workshop will provide the latest information on cost-savings that can be made through environmentally-friendly practices. Topics will include recycling, waste reduction, energy efficiency and the city's water quality management incentive grants.

Optional tours will be to Lexington's recycling center on Thompson Road and the Town Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Whether a business has already implemented green practices or wants to learn how to get started, the workshop will be an opportunity to get new ideas and learn from others, said Amy Sohner, executive director of Bluegrass PRIDE.
