Police find Morehead man indicted for manslaughter in 2011 crash

A Morehead man, indicted by a grand jury on April 20 for second-degree manslaughter, was arrested Sunday by Kentucky State Police. Zachary A. Wallace, 24, was arrested by Trooper Michael Wathen while Wathen was on routine patrol in Rowan County, state police said.

Wallace was involved in a crash on April 9, 2011, that resulted in the death of Michael Henderson, 19, of Morehead.

The crash occurred as Wallace and Henderson were southbound on Little Perry Road in a 1999 Dodge pickup truck. The truck left the side of the road, struck an access road and became airborne, police said. The truck overturned several times, and Henderson was ejected and hit a fence post. Authorities were not immediately able to determine who was driving the truck.

Wallace was being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
