Lexington traffic report, week of Nov. 12

The Division of Traffic Engineering is planning to install four-way stop sign controls and pavement markings at Cross Keys Road and Traveller Road on Thursday. Motorists should use caution at the intersection until traffic adjusts to the change.

Traffic is expected to be congested near Rupp Arena on Friday for the University of Kentucky-Lafayette (Pa.) men's basketball game. Motorists should use caution and watch for pedestrians crossing downtown streets.

Traffic near Commonwealth Stadium could be congested Saturday for the University of Kentucky- Samford football game, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Traffic on Cooper Drive will be one way going toward the stadium before the game and one way on Waller Avenue going away from the stadium after the game. Motorists should use caution.

The Division of Engineering issued land disturbance (grading) permits for the following addresses Nov. 2 to 8: 2765 Burnt Mill Road, 7225 Turner Station Road, 1776 Battery Street, 2228 Young Drive, 616 Wilderness Road, 1800 Goodpaster Way, 157 Bassett Avenue and 2672 Kearney Creek Lane. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.


Sandersville Road will be closed to through traffic 24 hours a day from Greendale Road to Jaggie Fox Way through Dec. 21 to repair a railroad bridge. Only local traffic will be permitted. Through traffic will be diverted to Mercer Road.


There will be a rolling blockage in the right southbound lane of South Broadway between Cane Run Road and East New Circle Road on Monday for sewer cleaning.

There will be a rolling blockage in the right inbound lane of Nicholasville Road between Tahoma Road and Hiltonia Park from Tuesday through Nov. 21 to replace utility poles.

The right inbound or outbound lane of Tates Creek Road will be blocked between Lansdowne and Gainesway drives through Thursday to trim trees above utility lines.

The right lane and sidewalk on East Vine Street will be blocked between South Limestone and Water Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday for work on the Community Trust Bank building.
