Federal officials have announced increased security measures for a ceremony marking the completion of a project to repair leaks in Wolf Creek Dam. The ceremony also has been moved away from the dam, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Thursday.
Security for the event, which is expected to draw 200 or more people, was increased because of the bomb attack earlier this week at the Boston Marathon.
The event is now scheduled to be at 10:30 a.m. CDT Friday at the Russell County schools auditorium/natatorium in Russell Springs.
Officials moved the event to the school because of expected bad weather, Corps spokesman Bill Peoples said.

People and vehicles entering the school grounds could be searched, and all purses and backpacks will be searched before being allowed into the auditorium, according to a news release.
