The Police Athletic League, a crime-prevention program that uses sports and educational programs to create trust and understanding between police and youth, held its national basketball tournament in Lexington.

The four-day event, at the Kentucky Basketball Academy, ended Sunday. It attracted teams in several divisions for boys and girls in grades 2 to 11. There are 400 PAL chapters across the country, serving about 700 cities with about 1,700 facilities.
