A man died in a four-vehicle pile up Thursday in Rockcastle County, said Coroner Bill Dowell.
Timothy Taylor, 50, of Mount Vernon died at the scene, Dowell said.
Lloyd Cochran, police spokesperson, said two other people were injured and flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Their conditions were not available.
Ketucky State Police responded to the crash, which occurred about 6 a.m. at the intersection of Dughill Road and U.S. 150. Police say Taylor's 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup was hit in the rear. The truck then crossed lanes and was struck by two other vehicles according to a Kentucky State Police news release. Taylor was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his Colorado, the release said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Taylor's told police that he was trying to avoid hitting a deer, said Cochran. He said investigators were interviewing other drivers to see whether that happened.
Cochran said he did not think criminal charges would be filed. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors, he said.
