Escaped Madison County inmates captured in Lexington

Two inmates who escaped from the Madison County Detention Center Friday were found early Saturday in Lexington.

Raheym Hill, 20, and Marcel Sellars, 24, both of Lexington, were arrested at 1:46 a.m. after being found by the Lexington police at a residence on Price Road, according to a news release from state police.

Hill and Sellars were handcuffed and wearing black and white striped pants when they hopped out of a van that was pulling up to the Madison County Detention Center at 9:11 p.m. Friday night.

They later damaged the handcuffs and ditched the clothing, according to the release.

Both were being held on three counts each of first-degree robbery. Hill also faces charges of being a felon in possession of a handgun, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

They now face additional charges of second-degree escape, theft by unlawful taking under $500 and third-degree criminal mischief.

They were being held Saturday in the Madison County Detention Center.
