Man assaulted, robbed in Lexington park

Lexington police are looking for two assailants who struck a man in the head and robbed him Monday night in Castlewood Park.

The victim was walking in the park, off Bryan Avenue, when he was approached by two men about 8:45 p.m., police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

The robbers demanded the victim's "stuff," then hit him on the head when he dropped his cellphone, Roberts said.

The robbers ran toward the Highland neighborhood, according to police. A police dog picked up a scent track but lost it near Bryan and Arceme avenues, officers said.

One robber was wearing a dark pullover, and the other wore a grey hoodie, Roberts said.
