Authorities are looking for two kidnapping suspects in Kentucky after a van involved in an abduction Thursday in Missouri was found wrecked overnight on the Bluegrass Parkway near Bardstown.
Both male suspects are at large, according to the FBI in Louisville, and one was seen running from the wrecked Chevy van. It's unknown whether they're still in Kentucky, authorities said.
One is described as between 18 and 20 years old and 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9. The other is described as 25 to 26 years old with a stocky build, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall.
Both men should be considered armed and dangerous, the FBI in Kansas City, Mo., said in a news release.
The two are being sought in connection with an abduction that occurred Thursday morning at a house in Kansas City, federal agents said.
The FBI said a woman called Kansas City police about 9:15 a.m. Thursday, stating that her husband's van was parked in the driveway, even though he usually leaves for work at 5:30 a.m.
When police arrived, the van had disappeared and there were signs of a physical altercation in the driveway, officials said. Officers also confirmed that the woman's husband had never arrived for work Thursday morning.
At that point, officials said, Kansas City police notified the FBI, and an investigation began into a possible carjacking and kidnapping.
According to the FBI office in Kansas City, the abducted victim ultimately managed to escape near Kansas City after a struggle with his assailants.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call law enforcement officers immediately.
