"One Good Deed' will lead to many more

The Woodford County Cooperative Extension ­Office will present One Good Deed Deserves Another at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Agriculture Resource Building, 184 Beasley Road. Participants will learn ways to offer unsolicited good deeds that multiply and ­scatter kindness. The class is free. Call (859) 873-4601.

El Día de Niños

The Woodford County Library will offer El Día de Niños, or Day of the Child Festival, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 115 North Main Street. Activities will include stories, food, fun, and a piñata. The event is free, but registration is required. Call (859) 873-5191.

"Be a Loser'

The Falling Springs Arts and Recreation Center, the Woodford County Health Department, and the Woodford County Cooperative Extension Service will offer Take the Challenge: Be a Loser, a 10-week course to help adults learn to control their weight, beginning with a free informational meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Agriculture Resource Building, 184 Beasley Road.Call (859) 873-5948, (859) 873-4541, or (859) 873-4601 to reserve a spot.

Dogs and discs

Bluegrass Area Disc Dogs will host the 2008 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Disc Championships, the largest disc dog competition series in the world, at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodford County Park, Beasley Road. There is no entry fee for competitors with the exception of the long-distance competition. Money raised from this event will benefit the Woodford Humane Society.Admission is free for spectators. Spring plant sale

The Midway Free Public Library will hold its annual spring plant sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the library, 428 South Winter Street.Call (859) 846-4280 from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
