The Edible Gardening Club will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 21 at the Dorotha Smith Oatts Visitor Center at The Arboretum, 500 Alumni Drive. Roger Postley and Brook Elliott will discuss the advantages of growing heirloom vegetables. The Edible Gardening Club is Lexington's first garden club devoted exclusively to growing your own food. Members meet monthly to share ideas, seeds, plants, and techniques for vegetable gardening. Bring a potluck snack or dish to share. After food and discussion, participants will gain hands-on experience planting tomatoes and peppers in the garden. Call (859) 257-9339 to pre-register. Free.

The Bluegrass Ovarian Cancer Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hope Lodge, 1504 College Way. Write to bgovca@gmail.com or call (859) 433-4133.
