Fancy Nancy, Mad Science among library events

The following events will be at the Woodford County Library, 115 North Main Street, Versailles. All events are free. Call (859) 873-5191 to register.

■ Fancy Nancy fans can dress up, decorate butterflies, dance, and dine on juice and tea cakes at Fancy Nancy's Butterfly Tea Party beginning at 3 p.m. Friday.

■ Be amazed by scientific marvels including fire, ice, and surprising chemical reactions at Mad Science of Kentucky beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

■ Teens are invited to make Altoid tin scrapbooks with scrapbooking professional Alayne Fleming at 2 p.m. Thursday.

■ Tim Williams of the Buckley Wildlife Nature Sanctuary will discuss the art of beekeeping at 7 p.m. Monday. No reservations are required.

■ The Metamorphosis Writing Workshop will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in July. Each week the group will tackle a different writing style with a different focus.

Applications taken for Repair Affair

The Versailles-Woodford County Rotary Club Repair Affair will be Sept. 26 and 27. In order to receive assistance, a person or family must be disabled or over age 60, must be the homeowner, and must have a modest income. Applications are due by July 1 and may be picked up in Versailles at the Senior Citizen's Center, Beasley Road; Family Eye Care, 105 Crossfield Drive; ERA ShowPlace Realty, Main Street; Citizens Commerce Bank, 534 Marsailles Drive; and United Bank, 100 United Drive. Applications may be picked up in Midway at United Bank, 206 North Gratz Street, or Midway City Hall, 101 East Main Street. Call (859) 873-3482.
