Paula Strunk, administrator at The Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Berea, and volunteer Rebecca Croucher recently achieved national and state recognition respectively for their work at the long-term care facility in Madison County.
Strunk, with The Terrace since 2004, received the 2008 Distinguished Administrator Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators. Croucher was the recipient of the Governor's Volunteer Awards/Youth Challenge Award from the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

The Terrace is the reigning Kentucky Facility of the Year as awarded by the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities.
Battlefield work noted
The 2008 State Preservation Leadership award went to Judge-Executive Kent Clark of Madison County for making preservation of the Richmond Battlefield a governmental priority.
