Boy has Colbert wish granted

William White, 11, recently had his wish of meeting satirist and television host Stephen Colbert granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. White is a Richmond native who has been diagnosed with synovial cell sarcoma, a cancer characterized by soft tissue tumors. He and his family were flown to New York City, where they visited the set of Colbert's Comedy Central program, The Colbert Report. They saw a taping of the show and received a backstage tour.

The wish was funded by the Eastern Kentucky University Chi Omega Sorority's 2007 Walk for Wishes. This year's walk will be 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at the EKU track. To participate, call Stacey Kelly at (859) 624-2283.
