Jessamine woman to represent Catholic feminists
Janice Sevre-Duszynska of Jessamine County, who has been ordained by the group Roman Catholic Womenpriests, has been invited to be a representative of St. Joan's International Alliance, the world's oldest Catholic feminist group. Founded in 1911 in London as a Catholic Woman's Suffragist group, St. Joan's International Alliance expanded its objectives to secure legal and de facto equality between women and men in society. It has worked with the United Nations on family law and the abolition of child and forced marriages and slavery.
Sevre-Duszynska will be at the U.N. headquarters in New York March 2 to 13.
