Construction has begun on Asbury College's 52,220 square-foot Communication Arts Center that will become home to the Communications, Media Communications, Journalism, and Theatre and Cinema Performance departments. The center will feature a 6,050-square-foot television studio and a 5,122 square-foot "black box" theatre. To reduce operating costs and promote energy efficiency, the building is designed with a geo-thermal heating and cooling system. The School of Communication Arts anticipates moving into the building in spring 2011.
