Military Missions Inc., a Lexington-based non-profit, will hold a "Support Our Troops" event at 9 p.m. March 20 at Natasha's Bistro in Lexington. Rhythm-and-blues band The City will perform.

Each year, Military Missions sends more than 2,000 care packages to troops. Founder Beth Pennington said, "There are countless cases of soldiers who need our support." She said the organization is financed only by private donations, which she said can be a way for people to say thank you to members of the military for their sacrifices.

The $15 cover charge and other donations collected that evening will pay for future care packages. Donations also can be mailed to Military Missions, Inc., 4808 Holmhurst Way, Lexington, KY 40515, or go to
