The following were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given by the Boy Scouts of America:
Cole Guthrie, 17, is a member of Troop No. 21. He is a junior at Bryan Station High School and is the son of Tim and Carla Guthrie of Lexington. Cole's Eagle Scout project involved designing and installing a Memory Garden and renovating the outside courtyard space at The Nest Center for Women, Children and Families. Members of Good Shepherd Troop 21 helped with the project.
Ethan Hughes, 17, is a member of Troop No. 1789 sponsored by First United Methodist Church. He is a junior at Lafayette High School and is the son of Brian and Nedda Hughes of Lexington. For his Eagle Scout project, Ethan renovated the God's Pantry distribution center at Central Christian Church by constructing a wall in one room and dividing it into two rooms and adding a doorway in an existing wall.
Blake Lynch, 17, is a member of Troop 111 sponsored by Meadowthorpe Presbyterian Church. Blake is a senior at Lexington Catholic High School and is the son of Julie and Tim Lynch. For his Eagle Scout project, Blake constructed eight park benches for St. Catharine College in Springfield, Ky. Blake has served as assistant senior patrol for his troop, patrol leader and troop guide. Blake is a member of Order of the Arrow, scouting's honor society. He participated in National Youth Leadership Training (boy scouting's premier youth leadership development program to train future leaders) where he was chosen to serve as a staff member for the first Bluegrass National Youth Leadership Training program.

Nick Michl, 15, is a member of Troop No. 73 sponsored by Centenary United Methodist Church. He is in ninth grade at Lafayette High School. Nick is the son of Peter and Tammi Michl of Lexington. Nick's Eagle Scout service project included making repairs and improvements to the Shallow Flats wildlife viewing area near Cave Run Lake.
