Lex-Care: Single mom has hours cut, needs help with housing expenses

One case requesting housing assistance was received last week at Lex-Care.

Megan Kissell, a case manager at Bluegrass Impact East, is counseling a single mother of two teenagers who needs $438 for housing assistance.

She has worked as a child-care provider for six years. Recently her work hours were decreased and this caused financial difficulties. She does not receive child support and has no medical card or insurance. Kissell is assisting her with adjusting her budget. She would like to return to school to obtain a degree in nursing.

At this time the family's income is from her earnings and food stamps.
