Free women's health screenings

A wide range of free health screenings, including cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure checks, will be available to Jessamine County women during Women's Check-up Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Nicholasville Baptist Church.

Area doctors and health care representatives will provide free EKG, pulse, body fat, height, weight, bone density and derma scan screenings during the event, and they will offer free health care tips and advice.

Rock Fence Concert Series lineup set

The Rock Fence Concert Series, five free outdoor concerts presented by Kentucky Bank, will be at Rock Fence Park in Jessamine County. The first concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with The Hit Men, a '50s, '60s and '70's rock 'n' roll band, as the headliner.

Here is the full Rock Fence Park Concert Series schedule; all shows are at 7 p.m:

■ May 21: Six Feet High and Rising, a Johnny Cash tribute show

■ June 4: The Squirrels, classic Western swing with Roger Bondurant, formerly of Exile

■ June 18: Bill Hall and Copperstone, classic rock and country

At each concert, entry tickets for the Rock Fence Grand Finale Giveaway will be distributed to attendees. The giveaway will include gift certificates and products from local businesses.
