The Bluegrass Charity Ball celebrated its 50th anniversary Dec. 29 in the ballroom of the Lexington Convention Center. Laura Adams served as ball chairman, and William Daniel Graves was master of ceremonies.
To celebrate the board's golden anniversary, the organization collected a special donation of more than $15,000 to provide digital mammography at the Markey Cancer Center clinics.
Fourteen young women were recognized. Along with family and friends, they will further the organization's objective of providing financial support to selected local non-profit groups. To date, the organization has raised more than $700,000 for more than 50 charities.
