HONORS

■ Rhonda L. Cornum, a retired Army brigadier general, has been selected as a 2012 Eagle for the Gathering of Eagles program at Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala.

Gathering of Eagles is a yearlong, student-run research elective at the college, which collects, educates and advocates air, space and cyberspace history through biographical studies and personal interviews with the student-selected Eagles.

Cornum was a flight surgeon and a prisoner of war during Operation Desert Storm. The retired brigadier general served in the military for 34 years.

Cornum is the mother of Regan Greene of Paris.

GRADUATIONS

■ Air Force Airman Travis L. Dawson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Dawson is the son of Trish Dawson of Lexington and a 2010 graduate of Tates Creek High School.

■ Army National Guard Pvt. Kevin L. Wiley has graduated from the fire support specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

Wiley is the son of Susan K. Pace of Lexington.

■ Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Marckia R. Wilson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Wilson is the granddaughter of Brenda Edrington of Lexington. She is a 2007 graduate of Lexington Christian Academy.

■ Army National Guard Pvt. Cleveland R. Willoughby Jr. has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Willoughby is the son of Mary S. Willoughby and Cleveland Willoughby Sr., both of Paris. He is a 2010 graduate of Paris Independent High School.
