Madison County Notes: Golf scramble benefits education foundation

The Mike's Kids Education Foundation's fifth annual golf scramble will be June 13 at Arlington Golf Course in Richmond. Check-in and registration begin at 8 a.m., and the scramble begins with a shotgun start at 9. A celebration banquet will follow the tournament.

The Mike's Kids Education Foundation, created in memory of former Madison County Schools Superintendent Mike Caudill, raises money to give annual scholarships to a Madison Southern and Madison Central graduate. The foundation also awards about 20 mini-grants to teachers each year for literacy education. Mike's Kids is the only education foundation designed to specifically benefit Madison County Schools.

Registration is limited to the first 144 paid players. Entry fees are $100 per player or $380 per team. Register in advance by calling Kristie Napier at (859) 661-1308.
