The Jessamine Jamboree will host a Soap Box Derby exhibition at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 8 on York Street in downtown Nicholasville. Boys and girls ages 6 through 14 can enter by building a car and passing a pre-race safety and construction inspection. Information about kits, which can be assembled in as little as three hours with a parent or adult, is available at AASBD.org. Those with vintage Soap Box Derby cars are invited to race or showcase their cars at the event. The event is sponsored by Scion on Nicholasville.
