Beth Myers, a counselor at Mary Todd Elementary School, submitted two cases to Lex-Care this week.
The first is on behalf of a single mother of three who needs $284 to pay an electric bill. She lost her job when she was unable to work because of unreliable transportation. She has fallen behind on her electric bill. At this time, her only income is from child support.
Mom has past-due child care bill
Myers' second case involves a single mother of two elementary school children who needs $410 to pay a past-due child care bill so her children can continue to receive after-school child care.

The mother is a substitute teacher and has also done administrative work. When she works, she can cover her expenses, but she is unable to work without after-school child care.
When the bill is paid, she will be able to manage on her earnings and child support.
