Bourbon County: Tour de Paris bike ride Oct. 19; Paris' Got Talent show is Oct. 27

The Tour de Paris bicycle ride will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19. For the first time, the Paris Pike corridor will host an escorted bike ride and will have one lane closed on each side of the corridor.

The 24.2-mile ride will begin at 9 a.m. at the Bourbon County Courthouse and will continue through downtown Paris, down the Paris Pike corridor, turning at the Thoroughbred Training Center in Lexington and looping back to the Bourbon County Courthouse. Also, a 13.4-mile ride will use the same (but shorter) route on Paris Pike. Lastly, a free family fun ride will begin at 10:30 a.m. and showcase downtown Paris's new bike lanes as well as historic attractions.

Registration for the bike rides is $15 prior to the event and $20 the day of the event, and includes a Tour de Paris shirt, a goody bag and a wristband that allows for special promotions at participating downtown businesses. Proceeds benefit the ongoing economic, promotional, educational and beautification projects of downtown Paris and the Paris Main Street Program.

Registration is available online at or by calling (859) 987-6237.
