Kentucky Basketball alum and Jessamine County native Jarrod Polson stopped at the Wesley Village Senior Living Community in Wilmore recently for a speaking engagement. Polson shared his experiences as a member of three Final Four basketball teams and winning the national NCAA Championship in 2012. High Bridge Homecoming Festival this weekend
The High Bridge Homecoming Festival will be held Friday through Sunday at High Bridge Park in Wilmore. The festival brings together present and past residents of High Bridge with tourists from near and far for a celebration of the historic river town and the iconic railroad bridge. Features for 2014 include: craft show, dessert auction, live music, silent auction, corn hole, river tours, raffle, Art in the Park, model train display, food vendors, church service, and antique tractors. Cherish the Blue at library Thursday
Relax, have a cup of coffee and enjoy experimental folk band Cherish the Blue at the Jessamine County Public Library at 1 p.m. Thursday. Cherish the Blue is the latest installment in the free "What's Brewing?" series. The five-piece group, based in Wilmore, mixes bluegrass, classical, jazz and European folk into songs inspired by the Holy Spirit.
