The following have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas:

■ Air Force Airman Peyton D. Tazelaar is the sister of Quenton B. Tazelaar of Lexington and the granddaughter of Linda Tazelaar of Mt. Washington.

■ Air Force Airman Brandon T. Beardsley is the son of Tim and Denise Beardsley of Richmond, and the grandson of Tim Beardsley of Berea, and Emily Shaw and John Waggoner of Richmond, and the nephew of Brandy Beardsley of Berea. He is a 2013 graduate of Madison Central High School, Richmond.

■ Air Force Airman 1st Class Iesha S. Stewart has earned distinction as an honor graduate. She earned an bachelor's degree in 2013 from the University of Kentucky.


■ Lt. j.g. Ryan Stephen Holman has been promoted to lieutenant at the Nuclear Power School in Goose Creek, S.C. He is the husband of Callie Holman, formerly of Irvine. He the son of Alicia and Jeff Holman and the grandson of Bill and Hazel Holman, all of Lexington. Holman is a 2005 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.

■ Cmdr. Joseph D. Sears, a Lexington native, has been promoted to commanding officer of Navy Information Operations Command Pensacola.

Sears is a 1989 graduate of the University of Kentucky and attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., where he received a master of science in computer science in 2004.


The Bluegrass Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will meet at noon Aug. 20 at the Equestrian Woods Country Club, 107 Clubhouse Drive, Nicholasville. Speaker: U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, R-Lexington. The meeting is open to all military officers — active duty, reserve and retired — and their guests. A buffet lunch is available for $17.
