Spooky Time on Main Street from 6-8 p.m. Friday

Nicholasville's Spooky Time on Main Street is the community's safe trick-or-treating location from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Main Street will be closed from Oak Street to Chestnut Street and First Street from Maple Street to Oak Street. Mindy's School of Dance will perform Thriller along with students from Red Oak Elementary. The Jessamine Ministerial Association will be on First Street with games and treats. More at Visitnich.com.

Library set to reopen at temporary location

The Jessamine County Public Library will open at its new temporary location, 193 Computrex Drive, on Sunday. The library has been closed during October as an expansion project gets underway at the permanent Main Street location. The library will remain at the temporary location for about 18 months until construction is complete. Hours of operation are 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Winery to host Halloween costume party

First Vineyard Winery, home of North America's first commercial vineyard, is having a Halloween costume party from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at 5800 Sugar Creek Pike. Prizes will be awarded for best costume. Music provided by Sassafras. Wine, beer and food available. No outside alcoholic beverages allowed.
