Lost Lexington author to speak in Nicholasville on Saturday
Meet Peter Brackney, the author of Lost Lexington, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at J's Place restaurant, 101 South Main Street in Nicholasville. In addition to signing copies of his new book, Brackney will speak on Nicholasville's lost architectural treasures such as the 1804 log cabin on Walnut Street that burned recently. Lost Lexington includes a chapter on Jessamine County's 1796 Chaumiere du Prairie estate. More at Facebook.com/lostlexington.
Senior community 'Encore Centre' preview
Wesley Village Senior Living Community will host a preview of its Encore Centre from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at 1125 Lexington Road, Wilmore. When complete, the Encore Centre will feature 28 independent living apartments with adjoining indoor warm salt-water exercise pool, café, movie theater, beauty salon and spa for massage therapy.
