Officials in Paris on Monday were asking everyone in the city to turn off all non-essential lights and electrical items until further notice.
A transformer blew Monday, resulting in periodic outages across the city.
By about 10:30 p.m. Monday, power had been restored in all locations, but Dispatcher Ernie Lucky said keeping it on depended on everyone using as little electricity as possible. He said the city had received hundreds of calls about the outages. He said he did not know when the problem would be fixed.
