Here's how the Martin Luther King Day holiday will affect Lexington services:

Government: All city offices closed Monday. Essential personnel will be available if there's snow, etc. State offices closed Monday.

Courts: District and circuit courts closed Monday.

U.S. Postal Service: No mail delivery Monday.

Libraries: Closed Monday.

Health department: Closed Monday.

LexTran: Will operate on a normal schedule.

Garbage collection:

■ Urban County Government: Garbage and recycling collection normally scheduled for Monday will take place Wednesday. In addition, the Haley Pike landfill, the LFUCG Recycling Center and the LFUCG Electronic Recycling Center will be open Saturday but closed on Monday.

■ Rumpke: No change.

■ M&M Sanitation: No change.
