A passenger died after a one-vehicle crash in Clark County early Saturday, and the driver was charged with driving under the influence, Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said.
Kyle T. Rupard, 23, of Winchester was pronounced dead at Clark Regional Medical Center, Perdue said.
Rupard was one of four passengers in a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Robert Deskins, 29, of Winchester, police said. Deskins might face other charges.
The crash happened at 4 a.m. Saturday on Colby Road, where the car hit an earth embankment and a small culvert, slid through a residential yard and struck a tree, Perdue said.

Deskins was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, but a spokeswoman said she did not have a condition for him.
One passenger, Justin Sammons, 26, was taken to UK, where he was listed in serious condition. Another passenger was treated at the Winchester hospital and released, Perdue said.
"After we get our investigation complete, there may be other charges" against Deskins, Perdue said. "We'll confer with the county and commonwealth's attorney and get directions from them and charge him or take it to the grand jury."
