The man who showed up at a Lexington hospital with a gunshot wound to the back after a fatal shooting in Winchester has been booked into the Clark County jail and charged with murder.
Aaron Lamont Lewis, 24, came to Saint Joseph East Hospital on Richmond Road on Monday to have the wound treated. Lewis told officers "unknown suspects" shot him while attempting to rob him, according to documents filed with Lexington police.
Lewis arrived at the hospital about 20 minutes after witnesses saw an armed man fleeing a Winchester duplex where shots were fired and two men were found dead.
The shooting happened at the home of Phillip Howard, 29, on Bypass Road. Howard and Demontez Cowherd, 25, of Lexington, were shot to death inside.
