An accident involving an overturned dump truck carrying sand was expected to block eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 between Clark and Fayette counties through 5:30 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured after the truck hit the interstate's concrete median, Lexington Fire Department spokesman Joe Best said.
At 2:30 p.m., traffic was expected to be affected for three hours, according to the state Transportation Cabinet's website. The website said traffic was reduced to one lane between mile marker 88 in Fayette County and the Clark County line.
