Altercation ends with 1 dead, 1 injured, no immediate charges, Lexington police say

An altercation between two men ended in a homicide, and investigators will determine whether charges will be filed, Lexington police said Monday.

Officers found Trenton Monroe, 28, and another man with injuries after responding to a reported assault with a weapon in the 1800 block of Hisle Way about 9 p.m. Sunday, according to police spokeswoman Brenna Angel. Monroe was found with a stab wound in the driveway of a townhouse while the other was struck and injured by a blunt object.

Monroe died at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to the Fayette County coroner.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
