Pedestrian struck, seriously injured after running out of gas

A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured while getting gasoline for a vehicle, according to media reports.

The woman was hit about 10:30 p.m. on New Circle Road near Liberty Road, according to WKYT.

The pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, Lexington police Lt. Andrew J. Daugherty said Thursday. No charges were expected to be filed against the driver.

The woman’s vehicle ran out of gas. She had crossed New Circle and was returning to the vehicle when she was hit, WKYT reported.
