FIFI, the Commemorative Air Force’s iconic Boeing B‐29 Superfortress, landed Monday at Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport for a week-long event at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky that will be open to the public Wednesday through Sunday.
The B-29 will be accompanied by a T‐6 Texan, a C-45 Expeditor, and a PT-13 Stearman. The B-17 Aluminum Overcast, operated by the Experimental Aircraft Association, will arrive for Thursday.
Through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors will be able to tour the B-29 and B-17 and purchase rides in all of the attending airplanes.
FIFI is one of only two airworthy B-29s in the world and the only one that flies regularly.
