An 89-year-old Lexington man drowned after a log rolled onto him, pinning him in a creek in northern Fayette County Monday.
The Fayette County coroner said Harold Edward Pulliam was using a chainsaw to clear brush from the bank of North Elkhorn Creek when a big log dislodged and rolled atop him, pinning him underwater.
Pulliam was pronounced dead at 9:49 p.m. at 4335 Mount Horeb Pike.
A family member and neighbors found Pulliam’s body. Lexington police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said they went looking for him after they noticed that all the lights were on in his house and the basement door was open, but Pulliam’s truck was gone.
